OTRS and NYCE Reinforce Competitiveness in Mexican SME's

Faster and easier ISO 20000 certifications with newly available toolkit

Cupertino, CA - January 18, 2011 - The certification body NYCE and the technology company OTRS have presented a toolkit specially designed for Mexican SME's to allow these companies to run under international Information Technology service standards, certified on ISO 20000.

This certification, which up until now was attainable only for large organizations, will enhance the utilization of best practices in business, allowing Mexican companies to generate business with global organizations in industries such as banking and telecommunications.

"In Mexico there are only two organizations with this certification, which has been granted by international bodies; however, today NYCE is the only Mexican certification body accredited to grant the ISO 20000 certification, and we are seeking to make it happen at a lower cost and in a reasonable timeframe, all in benefit of SME's", commented Carlos Pérez, CEO of NYCE.

The toolkit, known as KIT KWE 20000 NYCE-OTRS, contains OTRS IT Service Management software (OTRS ITSM).  It will allow the companies to achieve the ISO 20000 certification in a span of 8 to 12 months instead of the 2 years this process typically takes; this will help reduce implementation costs and offer customized online assistance and training on using the toolkit for all company members.

Carlos Pérez pointed out that NYCE's 16 years of experience certifying electronics and telecommunication devices is very broad, strengthening the ISO 20000 certification offerings. NYCE granted the ISO 20000 certification to the Energy Control Center of the Federal Commission for Electricity (national power supply provider in Mexico).

On the other hand, Paul Salazar, VP Global Marketing for OTRS, indicated that now more than ever it is indispensable for companies to have systems monitoring the services they offer their clients, at the lowest cost.

"When companies manage structured communication systems dedicated to connecting their clients with service agents in charge of solving their problems, using IT service management software can help Mexican companies make a difference while bringing an efficient, transparent and useful service to any organization or company", commented Paul Salazar.

Paul also pointed out that OTRS' experience in more than 100 countries in all five continents can be capitalized on by Mexican companies in a simple way to enhance their competitiveness in global markets.

Carlos Pérez, NYCE's CEO, mentioned that this toolkit will be available for all Mexican companies to respond to global requirements, to work in a joint manner and to obtain service contracts by having the certification on their side.
