OTRS ITSM and Extensions Now Available for OTRS 3.0

Cupertino, CA - April 04, 2011 - OTRS (www.otrs.com), the world's leading provider of open source Help Desk and ITIL-compatible IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions with over 1.1 million downloads, today announced the release of all major OTRS modules, including ITSM, Survey, TimeAccounting and FAQ, compatible to OTRS Help Desk 3.0.

ITSM 3.0.1

All OTRS ITSM modules including Problem Management, Change Management, Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, Knowledge Management, and Service Asset & Configuration Management were ported to OTRS 3 style and framework. ITSM search was included in the new OTRS 3.0 generic search dialog. In addition to the brand new interface and the rewritten template files, many bugs were fixed and testing framework, including the unit tests, were optimized.

Module Extensions

Survey 2.0.1

The Survey module now also has the brand new OTRS 3.0 look & feel. The complete code was reviewed and ported to the OTRS 3.0 framework and the Template files were split up for easier customization. The admin interface part of the module now supports the Rich Text / WYSIWYG Editor. A read-only mode was introduced in the public interface, which also got some accessibility extensions. Finally unit tests were introduced and language files were updated.

TimeAccounting 2.0.1

Many changes took place in the TimeAccounting module. Besides porting to OTRS 3.0 style and framework, all templates were optimized and partially rewritten.  It has been reorganized to improve the admin module. The database was highly optimized for enhanced performance. Some new user functionalities also made their way into the release: For the 'special days' (Vacation, Sick Leave, Overtime Leave) a mass entry is now possible. Additional lines for working hours are now added via AJAX and a new functionality to add working hours to an existing entry. Basic calculation operations are possible (e.g. 5 + 2). Last but not least the admin has now the possibility to define constraints for project - action relations and user group – project relations.

FAQ 2.0.3

The FAQ module received many small feature improvements bug fixes. It also was ported to OTRS 3.0 style and framework and got separate template files for easier customization. The FAQ search is included in the new generic Search dialog. The FAQ now also supports PDF output.
