Important for Upgrading

  • From OTRS 3.0.x: Make sure you run bin/otrs.RebuildConfig.pl after the upgrade so that the configuration is refreshed. Otherwise the system may not work.
  • From OTRS 2.4.x: Please read the UPGRADING and INSTALL files for detailed instructions.

Warning

OTRS versions from 3.0.beta1 up to 3.0.2 were affected by a bug in the GenericAgent which could cause the "Ticket Delete" flag to be active by default for new GenericAgent jobs, depending on the locale. If you used one of the affected versions and have created new GenericAgent jobs with them, please review them to check if the "Ticket Delete" flag indeed has the correct value. Otherwise unwanted data loss might occur.

For those folks who are using OTRS 2.4.x and want to upgrade to 3.0 please read the UPGRADING and INSTALL files.

  • Bug# 6681 - Font of notes is not fixed width (if Frontend::RichText is disabled).
  • Bug# 6458 - "Lock" not indicated on compose (lock/unlock message was not shown).
  • Bug# 5053 - Some inline images (bitmaps) from MS Outlook clients are not displayed in ticket zoom.
  • Bug# 6650 - AgentTicketPhone loses Responsible selection after reload.
  • Bug# 6354 - SMTPTLS mail backend multiplies attachments.
  • Bug# 6578 - Agent settings 'My Queues' selection not shown in preferences settings.
  • Bug# 6604 - Some attachments from mails created with OTRS 2.4.6 are missing from the attachment list after upgrade to 3.0.
  • Bug# 6559 - the CK EDITOR for entering comments does not starts if you use CZ localization.
  • Bug# 6476 - Stats overview table has display error in table header.
  • Bug# 6532 - With multiple inline images, only first one is preserved when replying.
  • Bug# 6533 - Not possible to search tickets by responsible agent.
  • Bug# 6535 - Stats CSV output is not CSV, despite preference change.

Browser Support

  • JavaScript is required to use the agent interface
  • The following browsers are not supported:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer before version 7
    • Firefox before version 3
    • All versions of Netscape

Supported Encodings

  • The default internal character set of OTRS was changed to UTF-8. Please see the UPGRADING file if you upgrade from an older version of OTRS for any implications this may have for you.
  • We recommend to change existing non-UTF-8 installations of OTRS to UTF-8 with the upgrade to 3.0.
  • All other encodings are now deprecated.
  • OTRS 3.1 will only allow UTF-8 as internal character set.
