Important for Upgrading

  • From OTRS 3.0.x: Make sure you run <code>bin/otrs.RebuildConfig.pl</code> after the upgrade so that the configuration is refreshed. Otherwise the system may not work.
  • From OTRS 2.4.x: Please read the UPGRADING and INSTALL files for detailed instructions.

Warning

OTRS versions from 3.0.beta1 up to 3.0.2 were affected by a bug in the GenericAgent which could cause the "Ticket Delete" flag to be active by default for new GenericAgent jobs, depending on the locale. If you used one of the affected versions and have created new GenericAgent jobs with them, please review them to check if the "Ticket Delete" flag indeed has the correct value. Otherwise unwanted data loss might occur.

  • Bug#7300 - Wrong dropdown pre-selection in AdminQueue.
  • Bug#7288 - hyperlink creation cuts URLs after a closing square bracket.
  • Bug#7287 - Ticket Type in Customer Interface is not indicated as a required field.
  • Bug#6937 - Vacation Days not indicated and translated in DatePicker.
  • Bug#7280 - AgentTicketCompose :: empty state selection causes many log entries.
  • Bug#7271 - Customer Password reset mail is sent even if the DB could not be updated.
  • Bug#7092 - Non-existent theme set in user_preferences makes login impossible.
  • Bug#7010 - Latest version of PDF::API2 no longer includes DejaVu fonts. Fixed by including DejaVu fonts in var/fonts.
  • Bug#7245 - Event based notifications are not sent to roles.
  • Bug#7272 - TicketFreeTime field label is not translated.
  • Bug#7244 - Plain Auth with SMTP/TLS does not work.
  • Bug#7249 - Definition of role based notification - selected roles are not stored initially.

  • Bug#6014 - Printed pdf tickets are not searchable.
  • Bug#6936 - Click on Customer triggers Wildcard-Search.
  • Bug#6961 - TicketActionsPerTicket - Buttons not localized.
  • Bug#6974 - Ticket Search does not find tickets if searching by in between 2 dates, and the ticket time is 00:00:00.

  • JavaScript is required to use the agent interface
  • The following browsers are not supported:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer before version 7
    • Firefox before version 3
    • All versions of Netscape

Supported Encodings

  • The default internal character set of OTRS was changed to UTF-8. Please see the UPGRADING file if you upgrade from an older version of OTRS for any implications this may have for you.
  • We recommend to change existing non-UTF-8 installations of OTRS to UTF-8 with the upgrade to 3.0.
  • All other encodings are now deprecated.
  • OTRS 3.1 will only allow UTF-8 as internal character set.
