What's New

  • Improved handling of pasted images in Rich Text Editor. OTRS now can handle images that are directly pasted from the clipboard into the rich text editor, if the format of the image is base64-encoded. At the moment this is supported by Firefox for Windows and MacOS.
  • Show ticket and article creator (Idea#378).
  • Added ReferenceData object that provides ISO-3166 country codes.

Important for Upgrading

  • From OTRS 3.1.x: Make sure you run bin/otrs.RebuildConfig.pl after the upgrade so that the configuration is refreshed. Otherwise the system may not work.
  • From OTRS 3.0.x: Please read the UPGRADING and INSTALL files for detailed instructions. There is a known issue in the DBUpdate-to-3.1.pl script of beta1 that may erroneously report a data migration error. If you encounter this, try the corrected version from http://source.otrs.org/viewvc.cgi/otrs/scripts/DBUpdate-to-3.1.pl?revision=1.62&view=co.

  • Fixed several performance issues with Dynamic Fields.
  • Bug#6715 - Setting CustomerID with otrs.AddCustomerUser.pl.
  • Bug#7719 - Agent login page does not offer user to save password with Firefox browser.
  • Bug#4957 - Password Change dialog misses "Current Password" option. Could be extend to contain other data later.
  • Bug#7926 - AJAX refresh does not work on some fields.
  • Bug#7931 - Operations and Invokers can't be deleted from web service if the Controller is not present or not registered.
  • Bug#7921 - Running DBUpdate-to-3.1-post.mssql.sql on Microsoft SQL Server generates errors.
  • Bug#6139 - Hide current queue in queue move dialog in AgentTicketZoom.
  • Bug#6365 - AdminMailAccount Queue field should be hidden or disabled if Dispatching is set to 'By Mail'.
  • Bug#7930 - Depreciation warnings in error log when running OTRS on Perl 5.14.
  • Bug#7914 - DynamicField value Storage on AgentTicketActionCommon.pm and AgentTicketPhoneCommon.pm.
  • Bug#7923 - Free field value not correctly migrated error on DBUpdate-to-3.1.pl.
  • Bug#3804 - Stats in Bar or Pie chart formats don't display non- ascii characters correctly.
  • Bug#7920 - New ACL mechanism does not update Ticket{!StateType} when a State or StateID is given.
  • Use the secure attribute to restrict cookies to HTTPS if it is used.
  • Bug#7909 - Errors should be logged in web server error log only.
  • Bug#7917 - New ACL mechanism does not generate DynamicField hash check when only TicketID is given.

Supported Encodings

  • OTRS 3.1 supports only UTF-8 as internal character set. Non-UTF-8 installations of OTRS must switch to UTF-8.
