Today changes of IT-processes and within the IT infrastructure, i.e. changes related to the Configuration Items (CIs), are definitely no exception but the rule. The most common causes for changes are:

READY FOR TAKE-OFF Initiative
In close collaboration with experts from different user organizations the ITIL® process change management has been realized to be implemented in the ITIL® V3- compatible IT Service Management solution OTRS::ITSM and is ready for since Feb, 1 2010. At the moment OTRS::ITSM 2.0 including the brand new Change Management Module will only be provided to user organizations that make a contribution to the realization costs of the Change Management Module.
The early integration of user organization ensures that conception and development of the change management module both were based on practical experiences. This ongoing joint development initiative allows users to exert a direct influence on the development process.
